SPLITCAM TECH SUPPORT / high gpu usage on blur background effect
Last post by cristian -
Dear All,
I configured a new pc with an Intel Core Ultra 7 265K with 32Gb Ram. I am using the embedded GPU INTEL Arc Xe-LPG Graphics 64EU.
When i use blur background filter, the GPU goes to almost 100% utilization, and everything is laggy. What GPU you recommend? Is it normal for this quite powerfull integrated GPU to not handle that effect?
Thank You

SPLITCAM TECH SUPPORT / Uploading Avatar on Profile gives an error .
Last post by Dink4 -
If I add an Avatar to my account profile via " Choose avatar from gallery " it works fine but if I try to " Upload an avatar "
then I get this error :

" The attachments upload directory is not writable. Your attachment or avatar cannot be saved. "

If I change anything else on my account profile it uploads/updates fine.

The Avatar is a .jpg which is 3.56 KB , Dimensions of 115 x 125 pixels .

Any ideas why ?

SPLITCAM TECH SUPPORT / Whatsapp on PC can't recognize Splitcam as a virtual camera
Last post by Dink4 -
Splitcam works fine it allows me to overlay 2 x Video feeds + 2 x Audio feeds in 1 scene as a virtual camera using
RTSP IP cams , and then use this virtual webcam on Teams .

However WhatsApp PC does not have it in drop down of available cams for Video call , is this a Splitcam issue or is WhatsApp PC
blocking the virtual camera input , as I see when Googling it , many 1 yr + old posts say it should work fine ,
but there is nothing recent to say it does ? I did find people saying OBS works , but I rather like Splitcams interface.

Win 10 pro 64bit , Splitcam 10.8.50 , 32 GB RAM , Fresh install .

SPLITCAM TECH SUPPORT / splitcam not recognizing external webcam on Mac OS
Last post by sloondermoon -
Running splitcam on Macbook Pro, Ventura 13.7.5. It recognizes my internal (facetime) camera, but does not show any other connected USB cameras as options when I try to add a new webcam to a layer.

The other USB cameras work with other Mac apps such as Photobooth and Facetime, so I know they're recognized by the computer. Any thoughts? Thanks!

SPLITCAM TECH SUPPORT / SplitCam Zooming in on MacBook's Camera
Last post by MirskyMan -
Hi. I just installed SplitCam on my second Mac, a M3 MacBook Air and I'm having some issues.

When I add my Mac's built-in webcam to a Scene and choose the 1920X1080 aspect ratio, the video initially appears fine. But if I add some other scenes and switch back, or quit the app and relaunch it, the camera's video looks zoomed in.

I asked ChatGPT if it knew what was going on and it claimed it's a known bug that may be fixed in a beta version of SplitCam but I wasn't sure if that's true.

I also searched in these forums for MacBook and didn't see anyone else having the same problem.

So please let me know if it's a known bug or ways to fix the behavior.

Thanks,

MirskyMan

SPLITCAM TECH SUPPORT / Questions about Horizontal Orientation of Meda in SplitCam
Last post by MirskyMan -
Hi. I just discovered SplitCam yesterday. I had been using a macOS app called iGlasses which, like SplitCam, creates a virtual camera but iGlasses is no longer being developed. So I was excited to find SplitCam.

I don't need or plan to use SplitCam for live streaming but I plan to use it in video conferencing apps like Zoom and Facetime as well as some web-based video conferencing sites such as doxy.me.

I actually used it with doxy.me today with a friend and it worked great, except for one thing: I was confused about whether I had to horizontally flip my media.

First I created a scene. For its media, I chose my webcam (an external Logitech webcam). The video from the camera was not mirroring me, so I flipped the image.I asked my friend what she saw and she said she saw the video from the webcam in the same orientation as I was seeing it.

I then added two more scenes, each with a video file I selected from my hard drive. And for those scenes/videos, my friend was seeing them backwards from what I was seeing. That is, to me, in SplitCam, the orientation looked normal. To her, on doxy.me, the orientation looked backwards.

Then I created another scene and for its media I chose a still image from my hard drive. And that image looked to have the right orientation to me in SplitCam and also to her in doxy.me.

So maybe I'm confused but does it make sense that she was seeing the same orientation i was seeing for the webcam and still image but not for the videos?

Thanks,

MirskyMan
